63 MT Electric Motors

Convoy Logistics Providers Ltd. (CLP) provided logistics services and was responsible for loading of 2 x 63 MT electric motors at Toronto Pearson airport. Final destination was Lagos, Nigeria where the refurbished motors were flown to be used in a major Chevron oil production installation.

 

The motors were loaded on an Antonov 124 airplane using a 300 ton crane that placed the motors on a ramp that the plane operator keeps with the aircraft to meet any loading requirements. A track installed on the ramp allowed the motors to be winched inside the aircraft where they were lashed with multiple chains. Special lashing rings were incorporated into the motors’ skid design to meet the airline’s stringent lashing requirements.
